DANCING WITH THE LIGHT

This photograph was taken at Guildwood park located in Toronto. Most of the time, the time and place will be selected by the couple. I would love to do a photography session under the charming sunset but at the time this wedding photo was taken I had to fight with the harsh noonday sunlight instead. Actually, this was one of the shots to break the ice. As usual, I didn't come with an expectation or plan. I was just following my heart and feelings, depending on the actual environment and my continuous observation. I didn't find the light, the light found me.

That's a challenge, which attracts me deeply. So, when I was walking behind the bride, the shadows burst into my sight and I knew I can't let this moment slip away. I asked the bride if she could do some random and relaxed shooting with me, the answer was yes. I told the bride 'it's a warm-up, just stand between me and the sun, do anything you want like dancing, looking around, jumping, spinning, spinning and jumping.' The only thing left for me to do was was to click, click, and click, in the CAFA way.

I retouched the photograph in Lightroom, something like color temperature, contrast, saturation, curve and pressure, darkened background. I have no fixed work process, I love to try everything until I feel comfortable. The key point of this image in my mind is texture, the texture of sunlight.
